PA FREESTYLE INVERT/OFF AXIS PROCEDURE

All invert/off axis qualification advancement is based on each individual athlete, and coaches discretion.

Step 1:  Athletes must participate in trampoline and indoor floor training session and receive a coach’s sign off.

  • The athlete must complete the trampoline checklist
  • Form is subjective to the athlete’s discipline, USSA Aerial 200, or USASA level 200 (if snowboard) coaches to assess and sign off on ALL athletes looking to advance to the next step.
  • Video can be submitted in lieu of in person evaluation

Step 2:  Athletes move to an Air-Bag or Ramp Camp or Pool.

  • Working with the appropriate coaches for their discipline, the Athlete must successfully demonstrate the aerial awareness to perform inverted/ off axis maneuver. A Jump Qualification sheet will be used as a guide to score the athlete.
  • Athlete must receive 3 passing scores on jump qualification sheet for that specific maneuver prior to proceeding to on snow.
  • Athlete must initiate the sign off and is only allowed to be tested once per week.
  • Once athlete receives sign off from a USSA Aerial 200, or USASA level 200 (if snowboard) they may move to on snow training.

Step 3:  Athletes move to on snow training must also be signed off by a Program Director, Head coach and parents must sign a waiver indicating they are in agreement with allowing their athlete to move onto snow for the execution of the maneuver.

  • At any time, athletes who are not displaying safe technique for inverts on snow can be pulled from the PA Freestyle Jump Qualification list based on Coaches Discretion.
  • An inverted/ off axis maneuver will be reviewed with and approved by a USSA / USASA certified PFSA coach prior to its execution to ensure that the location, weather and course conditions, as well as athlete mental and physical state warrant the execution of the specific maneuver.

The safety and wellbeing of our athletes is paramount.  Performing inverted maneuvers requires dedication and focus.  Our invert procedure is meant to keep Parents, Athletes and Coach working together to progress the athlete safely into the advanced maneuvers.
